Zen Shiatsu

Zen Shiatsu is a form of bodywork, rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, that focuses on bringing balance by focusing on body’s energy channels/Meridian pathways. Meridian pathways are shared between yin and yang organs and these pathways run along our body's tissue and muscles. Each pair of yin and yang correlates to one of the five element phases: wood, fire, water, metal and earth.

Zen Shiatsu brings balance to the yin and yang aspects of ourselves through passive stretching, compression, two hand connectedness and attention to specific acupressure points which then can have a positive impact on calming our nervous system ~ creating a feeling of support , increasing circulation, ease and comfort to the joints where movement and a sense of dance/ freedom can take place.

A zen shiatsu session is specific to each persons needs and healing journey by meeting the person where they are in this process and creating a safe space where support for deep relaxation and release of tension can take place.

Zen Shiatsu is traditionally done on a mat on the ground but can be adapted to a table. Clients wear loose comfy clothes where stretching is easily accessible.
