HaloIR Sauna

Breathe & Detox with dry salt inhalation “halotherapy” and infrared sauna. The HaloIR Sauna combines halotherapy, a holistic treatment that imitates the microclimate of a salt cave, and innovative far infrared therapy to strengthen respiratory health and encourage detoxification.

Frequently asked questions
What should I wear into the sauna? If you are using the HaloIR alone, it’s recommended to go nude or wear the least amount of clothing that you feel comfortable with. You are welcome to bring a change of undergarments or bathing suit to wear during the session. It will get sweaty.
If you are sharing the sauna with a friend & you do not feel comfortable being undressed with that person, you're welcome to bring a bathing suit or we can provide gowns (upon request).
How long is a HaloIR Sauna session? The total session is 45 minutes. The first 20 minutes are a combination of SALT + HEAT (100-120°). The remaining 25 minutes is HEAT only (up to 140°).
How HOT does the sauna get? While the salt is generating the sauna will hover around 110-120°, it will not get hotter than this because the salt generator is blowing air & salt into the sauna cabin which keeps the temps cooler. Once the salt turns off (after 20 minutes) the temperature will climb to a max of 140° for the remainder of the session.
Even though the sauna gets up to 140°, we recommend leaving the temp between 120-140. Most people begin sweating around 120-130°. This is where maximum detox & repair happens. Once the body begins sweating that is perfect. Just like boiling water…. Once it boils it can’t get hotter even if you turn up the temperature.
What if I get too HOT? You will be shown how to control the temperature. If you feel overheated, you can lower the temperature in the cabin or open the glass door to get some fresh air. Water will be provided, you can always step out to get a drink & take a break.
If you are new to using a sauna, it’s ok to shorten the session and work your way up to the full 45 minutes. This is very common.
I don’t like heat, but I want to get the benefits of salt therapy. Is this possible? Of course! You are welcome to enjoy a salt session only. The cabin heat will be kept at 85° for maximum therapeutic effect. You do not have to disrobe at this lower temperature.

How do I use the Fasciablaster? Always lotion the body part you are going to blast, this creates glide so you don’t tug & pull the skin. Move the blaster quickly over the skin in straight lines, never in circles. Discontinue use if pain or bruising occurs.

How do I use the Silicone Body Cups? Lotion the body part you plan to treat. Squeeze the cup & suction to the skin. Slide the cup in a straight line on the muscle. DO NOT leave the cup suctioned in one place as this can lead to bruising.
How do I use the Silicone Face Cups? Use the Sea Buckthorn Oil on the face to create glide. Squeeze the cup to create suction on the skin. Gentle slide the cup upwards from the nose to the ear, then downwards from the ear to the neck. Use the smallest cup around the eyes & lips as this is the most delicate tissue. DO NOT leave the cups suctioned in one place as this can lead to bruising.
Watch this video on how to use Silicone Cups for the face.
Can I bring my phone into the sauna? You should NOT bring their phones into the sauna while the salt is generating, as salt is corrosive. You can bring your phone into the heat only sauna, but when the sauna gets too hot you may want to set it outside.
Why am I coughing while in the sauna? Coughing is a natural reflex to eliminate irritants. The salt can trigger coughing which is ok. Salt therapy is great for respiratory hygiene & clearing lungs.
How many people can fit in the sauna? The sauna cabin fits 1-3 people. If you are bringing a sauna friend, please let us know when scheduling to ensure the sauna is set-up accordingly. There is a $5 charge for each additional guest. You may want to bring bathing suits to wear during your session if you do not feel comfortable undressing in front of your sauna friend. We can also provide gowns upon request.
When using the sauna with friends we politely ask that you refrain from loud talking, as there are other spa services going on & we want to respect their relaxation time.
Is there a shower I can use after the sauna? There sure is! The shower is available upon request, however we discourage showering after salt therapy so the mineral salts remain on the skin for maximum absorption.
Can I listen to my own music in the sauna? Yes you can. The staff will show you how to connect your phone to the bluetooth speaker inside the sauna. You can enjoy your own music, audio book, podcast or guided meditations. Search your favorite streaming app or YouTube for meditation inspiration.
While using the sauna speakers, we politely ask that you refrain from loud volumes, as there are other spa services going on & we want to respect their relaxation time.
What are the benefits of Halotherapy AKA Salt Therapy? Halotherapy, also known as dry salt therapy, is an all-natural, holistic approach to healing. A practice that has been around for more than 100 years and medically recognized in Europe for over 50 years. In halotherapy, pure pharmaceutical-grade salt is breathed into our distal airways where it brings its naturally occurring anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties to both the upper and lower airways. The particles are also absorbed by the skin.
