Thai Stretch & Bodywork
Thai Stretch & Bodywork is an ancient form of healing that combines the concepts of yoga and energetic Chinese practices. This movement therapy uses various stretches and compression to release stagnant energy in the physical, emotional, and spiritual bodies. Thai massage therapists use many parts of their body - their thumbs, palms, elbows, and even feet and knees - to pull, press, and stretch the body. This is done to loosen the joints and relax the body.
Often called lazy man’s yoga, Thai massage encourages the client to be passive while the therapist flows through various positions. Blood flow is increased and fresh oxygen is brought to new areas of the body, often described as energizing and invigorating.
Unlike other massage therapies, you remained fully clothed throughout Thai Stretch & Bodywork. Your therapist may offer you special clothing to wear, or suggest you come in loose fitting attire.
Thai stretch takes place on a floor mat. This is to allow the therapist more flexibility in performing the stretches on your body.
