Rolfing® Structural Integration
Rolfing® Structural Integration is a form of soft tissue manipulation and movement education that helps the body move with more ease, grace, and integrity. Rooted in the work of Dr. Ida Rolf, this method focuses on the fascia—the connective tissue that weaves throughout the body—and aims to create more space, alignment, and integration across all systems.
Originally designed as a series of ten sessions, Rolfing® looks at the body as an interconnected whole. Whether you're addressing pain, recovering from injury, or seeking to improve posture and presence, each session is tailored to your specific needs. Assessments are done before, after, and sometimes during your session to track changes in structure and movement. Sessions can be done fully clothed in comfortable, non-restrictive attire, or more traditionally in minimal clothing to allow for precise fascial work.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Rolfing®?
Rolfing® Structural Integration helps the body regain fluidity and balance by working with fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. It helps restore function and alignment, often resulting in reduced pain, better posture, and more efficient movement.
“Structure can change for the better, at almost any point in life.”
– The Dr. Ida Rolf Institute®
How is Rolfing® different from massage?
While massage tends to focus on muscle relaxation, Rolfing works to reorganize the body’s entire structure. Rolfers address fascia, joints, ligaments, and tendons—not just muscles—to create lasting shifts in how your body moves and holds itself. It’s a method that focuses on alignment, ease, and integration.
What happens in a session?
After reviewing your intake form, you’ll be guided through a few simple movement assessments to observe how your body is functioning. Once on the table, your practitioner will evaluate tissue tone, alignment, and joint mobility. Using both physical techniques and SourcePoint Therapy®, you’ll receive a session that supports your goals while honoring your body’s natural intelligence and healing rhythm.
What should I wear?
Wear something you feel comfortable moving in—thin, stretchy, non-restrictive clothing like a tank top and shorts, sports bra, or underwear. Structural assessments may be done before, after, or during the session, so comfort and accessibility are key.
Who can benefit?
Rolfing is supportive for all ages and body types. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic tension, or simply looking to feel more at home in your body, Rolfing can help.
People often seek Rolfing for:
Neck & back pain
Stress and tension relief
Posture and alignment concerns
Joint discomfort
Greater ease and confidence in movement
Support integrating major life changes
